Has anyone had any good experience w/ these turbos? I'm noticing on the pictures from ebay, no borg warner stamped KO4; just something stating KO4. On listed items' application tables, vehicle applications seem to conflictto my knowledge. They're claiming like, "$328 --Buy It Now!" I always thought that a VW turbo was different to an Audi 1.8T, due to transverse scenerios. Anybody had any luck (good OR bad) w/ such listings from Ebay? Any feedback would be appreciated...sorry haven't had much time to even post this msg, let alone search the Audi forum archives. Thanks. Peace, Nlt1.8t

I wouldn't buy anthing that has to do with reliability or functionality for your car on ebay. Unless its stock and you have more info.

 

It is a cheap knock-off. There is a reason why it is cheap.

a ko4 will give you minimul power........ go to atpturbo.com and check out their turbo's

but if you wanna know a reputable place for a "ko4" go to gpopshop and check out their ko3/4 turbos

 

K04 is a reasonable power increase for those that don't want to go BT.

The prices for a new K04 are about 950 dollars.

 

Besides. ebay ko4's usually won't even fit because they are 5 bolt exhaust and our cars are 3 bolt exhaust.

 

More like $800. The power increase is mainly in the boost spike and only a tiny bit more the rest of the same weak powerband. A better solution would be atleast getting a gt2x for a few more of both hp and tq but mainly a much longer powerband for only a few hundred more. If people arent stupid, they work well if the boost is kept reasonable (20-22psi)and they are allowed to cool after use.
