Default Looking to buy an 2001.0 Audi A4 1.8t?

I found an 01.0 audi a4 1.8t quattro automatic for sale with 71k miles on it for $10k. Im pretty unfamiliar with audi but i did own a 98 jetta and hated it. I just wanted to know if this audi would hold up for years or will it cost a fortune to maintain? The car itself has no chips, dents or scratches and the leather looks brand new with no rips or tears or stretching. The dealer specializes in VWs and Audis and had the timing belt changed, along with the tensioners, water pump and other things. The car is modded from the outside, it does have aftermarket rims and a spoiler. I am unsure of any engine mods but will find out tomorrow. Anyway, does this car sound like a good deal and will it run for quite a few years? I do the scheduled maintence and get oil changes every 3,000 miles.

I have an 01 A4 automatic with quattro that just rolled over 110k and i love it. I havent had any major problems other than the thermostat not working properly but that is a cheap fix. I paid 6,500 for mine with 98k on it. It needed new tires and a front end alignment bad so i knocked off 500. All in all i'd say that year is the last year audi made a b5 a4 and in my opinion they fixed a lot of the older b5 problems.

I also have a 01 1.8t but mines a manual, it at 120k and the only problems that I have had since I've owned it is the thermostat going bad and a bad rear o2 sensor. $10k sounds a little high to me but that car does have less miles on it.

+1 on the price being high.

the car does come with a 3 month/4500 mile warranty but i think im going to purchase another year long warranty too. If $10k seems a little high, how much should I offer? I used KBB.com and they said retail its worth $10,100, NADAguides says its worth $10,500 and Edmunds says its worth only $8k.

Depends how much you really want it.

I got my 00 2.8 for $8700 with 68k 2 years ago. Keep in mind you'll have to pay taxes on that $ amount as well.

Look around search autotrader with the exact same specs. Driving 100 miles is worth saving $1200 to me. I flew from pittsburgh to atlanta to find a great deal with exactly what I wanted. One way plane tickets are pretty cheap. Just my personal preference.

Price is high. There is an audi 1.8t 2001 75k miles here where i live its at a local dealer and they are asking only 8250 for it. There is also a 98 audi a4 2.8 with only 76k miles and they want 6700 i believe not exactly sure on second price

way too much for an asking price.. the miles are kinda low but not $10k low.. and kbb and the rest of those websites are poop.. cars only sell for the price they get at auctions.. u cant use those for a referance at all. my car on kbb is $10360 from a dealer... i got it for $6500 from a dealer.. lol big difference..

I'd have to go with the others on the price thing. I believe i got an OK deal getting mine for 6500 but hey to each his own. And as for an offering price i can see myself paying 8 for it with those miles.
