Looking to get my wife an A4
There's an A4 for sale on my local craigslist. It is a 2000, and has 118K miles, 5spd. Looks really good, but the seller doesn't specify whether it is a QT or FWD. My guess, based on the price is that it is FWD.
My question is how reliable are the FWDs compared to the QTs?

if u want to post the link on here or pm it to me ill check it out and see what info i find cuz i got a 2001 qt for a really good price so that wouldnt be too much of a factor i think but if it is the front wheel drive i would say save ur money and get a vw jetta having the quattro makes a world of difference as i have seen betweens my bros 2001 jetta and my 2001 a4 qt in the snow i dont know where u live but in colorado having the qt is the only real option and i have never seen a car that can touch audis quattro system in snow driving
I just talked to the woman selling it.
KBB says it's worth $5,065 (Private Party - Good condition)
It's a 2001 Fronttrak.
Gray cloth interior
5 speed
105K miles
Small stain (from kid spilling a drink) on back seat
Needs a new CV axle (front passenger side)
Just had the timing belt and water pump changed 3 weeks ago (she has receipt)
Also, within the last 6 months, it has had the following replaced:
Crank Position Sensor
Vacuum check valve (who knows where that went)
Mass Airflow Meter
She's asking $4500, but is willing to take $4000 cash, but I think I can get her down to $3700, and I'm fairly certain that I can swap out the axle myself.
Thoughts?
