low coolant cant find any leaks?

Hey guys hopin u can help me. Im sitting in a drive throw and my temp display comes on get my food and pack check the coolant level its low so i do the obvious add coolant. Then i noticed a puddle of coolant under my car. Soo i take it home i dont drive to work so i let it sit earlier today i check for leaks nothing. But i noticed where the coolant resovoir is was leakin a couple drops and here there nothing crazy it seemed to since stop. Any ideas? Its a 2001 a4 1.8t quattro. Im keepin coolant on me while i drive to keep it safe.

As the coolant warms up and pressurizes the system it's probably pushing coolant out that crack in the resivor. Check for leaks with it warm and possibly running

Does that work wit hosses as well?

look for white dried up drops to find the leak, it might also be possible that your water pump is leaking since you cant see where it was coming from and you had a puddle of water under the car. do you know when was the last timing belt service done on the car, thats usually when the water pump gets replaced. you might also want to replace the original hose clamps, with some reusable ones with a screw on them

It was serviced a few months ago right before i bought it thing runs smooth im still driving it no problems though. I was thinkin clamps too but i truely uave no idea. Wat side is the pump on?seems like its the right side of the motor.

Right side of the motor area* if it was the waterpump wouldnt it overheat?therefor not be driveable? Im new to the audis but im fimilier wit.DSM motors and such

We've found coolant leaks before by popping the small line off the front of the coolant tank, covering the nipple on the tank, and pressurizing the system through the hose with an air compressor. Just do short blasts so you don't rupture anything, but you can definitely find leaking or cracked hoses and components that way.

I found a crack in the res at the back which could not be seen until it was released

Just went to munroe and had my wheel bearing replaced and they gave me a hand tracing it. The back of the res has a screw like wholw just drops and drops nothing crazy but i needbto replace it we all agreed that it was the issue. Im just gonna keep an eye on it for now but that should do the trick for right now guys. Thnx for all the help and suggestions.
