Default Low pressure AC port

anyone figure out where the low pressure line is on a 96 B5? Some audi dealer mechinic said its possibly above the right front wheel well. I cant find it. Also do you know if your standard carquest freeon will work.

there isn't one, you have to get an adapter for the high port to make it a low and then charge it. check your local auto parts stores to see if they have the adapter. otherwise you'll have to take it to the dealship

finally a real answer! Any chance you know what this adapter is called? Local auto parts people and foreign cars go together like oil and water

I had the same issue with my 96 I just purchaced, had to take it to Jiffy Lube it cost 110 bucks to get it recharged. No auto parts stores could give me any help. But my A/C is super nice and cold now, its great!

hiwords, You should give these guys a heads up that charging through the high pressure port is dangerous and they can get injured easily by using a can on it. I add some to mine sometimes through the high pressure port but I leave the engine not running and turn the can upside down to add it as liquid. If you start the engine with compresser running you will have enough pressure in the high side to burst a small can. I don't want to see anyone getting injured doing this...

Good Luck...

You can easily over charge the system. You need a guage
on the low pressure side with the A/C running.

dude how the hell do you even fill up through the high side port, even with the engine off, a small leak will cause alot of refigerenet loss. and also nflea how did jiffy lube do it, they told me it couldnt be done.
