Sport suspension struts are fine for a mild drop. Non sport pretty much requires struts no matter what. If you just got for H&R or Vogtland sport springs and you have sport suspension then you wont need struts but any lower and you will need struts. I just put Vogtland sports on my car they aren't quite as low as I was hoping for...
Lame. There's TONS of info on this.
You'll need new shocks if you don''t want a bouncy, uncontrollable ride or blown shocks.
Eibach lowering springs and Bilstein HD shocks will run you $700 or less plus labor. Good coilovers start at $500 and you'll need shocks and labor on top of that. Eibach/Bilstein is a good combo for DD use/weekend track use.

I will sell you a set of Koni coil over's w/ adjustable rear dampeners for 1150 shipped. This kit to be exact http://www.tirerack.com/suspension/s...019&perfCode=S looks like a great kit to me and I think I am giving you a good deal lol.
