Default Lowering Springs

Hey guys!

So I'm looking at getting some spring for my 1997 Audi a4 Quttro. I want to go about 1.5-2 inch drop nothing too nasty but I want a nice stance with good handling (I'm going to be taking this car to the snow and canyon roads) I've heard great things about Eibach springs but is it worth the $$$ for them or should go with H&R or Tein springs. Later on I'll be adding some bilstein or koni springs to go with the springs.

What do you guys suggest? What are you guys running on your car? What's the handling like? Pictures too maybe?

I like the tines. I think they are the stiffest? But your struts will blow fairly quickly if you don't upgrade them and but new springs on.

I just put the Tein's on my B5 S4 and really like the ride and handling. I would load a pic of my car but still unsure on how to load pics off my phone to this site.

I would also recommend the Tein springs, but only if you have a 2.8. The S-tech (~2" lower) are only made for the 2.8 and S4 B5's and you don't want to run them on the 1.8 cars because you will end up raising the front. I'm running the S-tech springs with S4 struts (spring rate and valving match better) and love it.

I had the H&R race springs o my 2.8. loved them. pretty stiff, car was nice and flat in the corners, but they ate through my stock sport struts pretty fast. regardless of what kind of drop spring you get, you should seriously consider some koni/bilstein struts asap to accommodate them. any agressive drops on stock struts will quickly become bouncy and annoying

Tein makes S-Tech for the FWD 1.8T That doesn't help the OP though

Eibach will drop about 1.3", which IMO isn't enough. If you go with Bilstein Sport struts, you'll get an extra ~0.5" drop though!

I was going to go with race land coil overs too. But I've also heard pretty bad things about them
