Again, I had Neuspeed and not H&R, but they're pretty similar from what I've heard and read.

Overall, I appreciated the stiffness of the suspension, especially when the going got twisty, but it didn't break my back when I would hit a pothole. At the same time, I was 17 when I got rid of the car and bumps didn't yet bother me too much.
Great thanks for the advice I will consider race springs maybe neuspeed just to be on the safe side or if they are about the same probably h&r. About what kind of clearence would you say you had between the tire and the fender?

I can't honestly remember. I could almost fit two of my bony fingers in the gap, and I think the ground-to-fender was ~25". Used to have that stuff written down but it's long gone by now.

Trying to find a pic to illustrate my stance, but this is about the best I can do...

Also, from what I've been reading the H&R Race might actually be a bit more aggressive than the Neuspeed.

Thumbs up Thanks for the pictures!

Thanks for taking the time and posting some pictures. It definitly doesn't look too low as I thought I would be. It looks awesome that's about the clearence I want. I'll start looking into neuspeed race. Thanks for the advice kolbs_91. That A4 look great!

dont mean to threadjack but im looking at similar options.

I know a guy who is selling some eibach lowering springs. I am just looking to decrease the gap a bit on my b5, not really looking to spend big dough on coilovers.

Would it be bad to drop the car and use the shocks that were put in by the factory 100k ago? I am guessing this would cause excessive wear on them.

Thanks! And not a problem at all. Just remembered a thread on Audizine that might be pretty helpful... B5 A4 Wheel and Suspension Thread

That's the first lowered B5 I've seen that doesn't look too low. Very nice!

I know that a few people have gotten by with just springs and not had any problems, but it's still not something I would recommend. Your odds of getting away with springs alone go up if your car already came with factory sport suspension. I would check around for a set of gently used Bilsteins if you can't or don't want to splurge for new ones.
