Default LWFW and FMIC quick questions

I'm running a 13lb lwfw and it doesn't haven't much gear rattle at all (audible but not annoying) except when I turn on the AC, then it rattles like crazy, very audible. Sounds like I have no oil in my engine rattle. Is that normal?
Also I'm running a 2.5" fmic and if I'm stopped at a stop light for more than a minute my coolant temp guage moves from directly in the middle to the next tick, it won't go past that tick (for those with different clusters I have the cluster with a 2 ticks Inbetween the cold/hot and middle ticks). Not that big of a deal because it won't actually overheat but is it normal?

Thanks guys!

i dont see how the items you listed in the title have to do with anything.

if **** rattles with the a/c on, check the a/c clutch

as for you car overheating, its simply overheating. the intercooler piping doesnt have anything to do with it. could be plenty of things, but check radiator flowage, coolant temp sensor, waterpump, fan clutch, ect ect... and fyi, even a little bit over half on the coolant temp is too hot.

Maybe you don't understand, my car never did these things until after I installed the lwfw and fmic. I know the lwfw rattles more when I turn on the ac because I know what it sounds like when I rattles, I was just simply asking that when more load is placed on the engine (like adding a/c) if it normally makes it have more gear rattle.

And as far as the overheating I do know it is getting hotter than I would like, but it's because I put a 2.5" chunk of aluminum infront of my radiator and the fan can't pull in enough air. I was just asking if I should be worried about it or if there was any way to lower the temp a bit short of an e fan

Bernoulli's principle. Pressure increases as velocity decreases, and vice versa. Maybe you can try going with another size diameter piping or intercooler. I'm no expert but it could be that the system is under pressured.

^ that has absolutely nothing to do with my problem. I have a problem because I have a 2.5" (smallest dianeter you can get) chunk of aluminum with hot air running through it restricting air flow to my rad. Ill also add that it has been ~85-95 degrees here everyday, an yes the rad fan is on and the aux fan cuts on when I get to the next tick then cuts off.

I understand what you are saying. I was just suggesting that if the air moved quicker it would definitely help dissipate some extra heat. You say it has absolutely nothing to do with your problem. One adjective too much ;p

I don't know what is causing your rattle but you did say you were experiencing high temperatures.

Then again you did mention that you are running the smallest diameter possible, so if you wanted to increase the velocity of the air running through the intercooler, increasing diameter wouldn't help at all.

I'm already running 2" pipes which are rather small with a 2.5" intercooler which is also considered small. And I'm running at 18psi with a full spool at ~2700 rpm meaning my air runs plenty fast, and technically I pretty sure if my air was moving faster it would increase my temps since more air is getting cooled, but that's just conjecture

the rattle sound is related i can confirm what he says and it is very annoying. i have an 11lb LWFW and with the AC on you hear gear chatter. it sounds almost like a diesel.

Pbcrazy, look at getting a Fluidamper crank pulley. it will help reduce some of the vibration.

as for cooling, replace rear coolant temp sensor and see if that helps.

for the IC piping.. use 2.25 on hot side and 2inch on cold side if your k03/k04.

next time start your car, put AC on and pop the hood and look at what your crank pulley is doing.
