Default maf diameters?

What size is the stock maf? I know the vr6 is 2.75 if I remember correctly.

I'm going somewhere interesting with this.

Thanks

Stock is 2.75", VR6 is 3". Don't quote me on this part, but I believe the MAF sensor from a Ford Lightening, Audi V8, and TT225 are all 3" as well.

Is the element inside the maf the same and only the housing different?

These correlate to the OD of the housings.

Stock MAF housing ID is about 2.45" (62mm), and VR6 housing ID is about 2.75" (70mm).

Normally you would put your stock sensor into the other housing. One thing you'll have to look out for though is that the housing orients the sensor in the same direction as it originally was. So for you, having an AEB engine, if you go with a VR6 housing you'll have to make sure it is a MK3 VR6 housing. MK4 housing will rotate the MAF sensor 90 degrees.

Maybe he was Extra clarification doesn't hurt though If he's anything like me, however, the ID will be more useful (for calculations and such).
