maintenance question...
hey guys i have an audi a4 1.8T stick. i got around 90k on it and i got some questions about maintenance, first of all thanks for your time. ok so i think i need to change the timing belt because the mechanic told me that supposed to be done at 60k, so is there anyway i can check if the timing belt was changed he said that its gonna cost 800$ to change it. the second thing is that is that when i turn the car squeeks its not so bad, just enoying, friend told me if i have enough power sterring liquid, but it is between the max and low so i guess there is some other problem. oh and the last thing if i would want to sell the car, what kinda price i should be asking for.
The timing belt should be done around 80-90k, make sure he quoted you for the tensioners and rollers because $800 is a damn good price. Your water pump is seperate from the timing belt but i would consider having that done as well since he's in there.
If your looking to sell it would be worth around 7K, 9K if the timing belt and water pump is done.

Selling a 1.8T 5speed with little over 100k shouldn't be a problem. It's a huge plus if the car is in good shape aesthetically, and the major maintenance stuff like the timing belt are done.
