Mayhaps found the root of the problem..
If you've been paying attention you know my car hasn't been starting for a while, and I haven't nailed it down yet.
Recently replaced Both Crank and Cam Sensor. After trying to start it, same problem, it cranks but won't start. Scanned with VCDS lite and came up with the following:
VCDS-Lite Version: Release 1.1
Friday, 25 November 2011, 14:24:28.
Control Module Part Number: 8D0 906 266 B
Component and/or Version: 2,8l V6/2V MPI OBD2 D02
Software Coding: 01201
Work Shop Code: WSC 06335
VCID: 2B2984AFCA0B
1 Fault Found:
16706 - Engine Speed Sensor (G28): No Signal
P0322 - 95-00 - Unknown Error Elaboration
Any help or pointing in the right direction, as always, is greatly appreciated. I feel like I'm close but at the same time... yeah.

I know that you have been toiling over this for quite some time now. If I'm doing my research correctly, your G28 sensor is on the transmission. Goes in the hole that the red arrow in the pic points to. hopefully someone who knows can confirm.
anyway, apparently this sensor compares its readings to your cranks sensor and if they don't agree you get the no start issue you are having
good luck

There is TWO Crank sensors that give off that code and are the same sensor. I found this out when my car wouldn't start and I pinched the lower ones cable (didn't know this one existed) when I put the trans back on after changing the clutch. Both connect to the harness behind the coolant res and are located on the drivers side. One is up on the trans and the other is lower. Sorry I can't help more cause I can't find a pick.

Found the lower one. Post 15. The empty hole is the second crank sensor.

Alright well I cleared the code and it hasn't come back yet, so I guess that's good. Still have no spark, idfk wtf is going on.
When I scan it there are no codes, yet I still have a CEL.
So now my plan, and I hate this plan, is to spend all tye daylight hours of tomorrow on this bastard, and if significant progress isn't made: it's going to the shop.
Main reason I hate this plan: I have about 400 dollars to my name, and am certain this is going to cost a lot more.
What I want to do today while I'm at work is compile a list of any possible cause and eliminate it tomorrow. So if you have a suggestion, please respond with it. Thanks a bunch guys.
