Default (Mostly..) successful first time DIY

I know this isnt a big deal for most of you guys but it kinda is for me I did my first oil change, replaced my air filter, and replaced my radiator expansion tank. All was successful except that I closed the hood on the cover that goes over the airbox and cracked it :/ Also the expansion tank is slightly different from the one that was in there (1996 2.8....and I got the tank from the PO) so the top doesnt screw on...so I currently have it duct taped on until I get the new top (ghetto I know I hate to do it to my baby but I must..).

nice dude, just make sure that u don't let your radiator cap (ductape) get a whole in it because you will have some boiling water madness[8D]

Ill get up pics tomorrow, its ab to rain...yeah I already ordered the replacement from ecstuning so should be here in a couple days. the cap fits on almost perfectly, its just how it screws on, the old one has threads on the inside, the new tank needs one with threads on the outside, hopefully the tape holds

Well done. Everyone has to start someplace. So enough you will be tackling big jobs like replacing the TB. [sm=smiley20.gif]

The first time I changed the oil in an audi (8 years ago), I drained the tranny fluid by mistake...
LOL!!! I can still remember my feeling of dread...

I have since done everything there is to do on my A4's... timing belt, head gasket, suspension, tranny fluid/filter change... nothing seems all that bad after you get over your first major mistake... heh heh

So I would think you're off to a good start, man! Its so satisfying to do your own work!

Wait, how did you guys accidentally drain your tranny fluid instead of your oil? Are they by each other?

If so, that may explain why my transmission makes really loud grinding noises and doesn't want to shift, and I have an overflow of oil....

Just kidding! No but really, when I first bought the car I thought my coolant level was my oil level.

I did my first oil change with my dad when I was 12. I did my first turbo swap when I turned 16.
