i get 400 out of a tank no prob (quattro)

 

Dang how am I only getting 21 on average stock with quattro. I knew something was wrong haha

 

You can't complain about the gear ratio on these cars though. The last car I had was hitting 4k rpm at about 75mph. I think the turbo was meant to kick in at minimum freeway speeds on the 1.8t, which is perfect for passing slow cars I'm averaging 31.2mpg with about 70% highway. If I were to do straight freeway on a long trip, I'm positive I could get over 500mi. on a full tank.

 

HOW? I'm 100% stock and cant clear 350 on a tank. I mean I don't see how it would be possible.

 

2.8 quattro auto here.

Been getting about 275 to a tank. Mostly highway miles for my commute to work everyday, been getting about 22/24 mpg. I don't mind it at all.

 

2001 1.8tq TIP: K03s, ATP Testpipe, 2.25 exhaust, Open Intake Mod w/shield, GReddy S BOV (recirc), FMIC, Diode mod (17psi), MBC, New plugs, New coils, New MAF.....220-250 miles on a tank....bull ****. What can I do to get better MPG? (and i don't beat the snot outta it either). What's the egr?

 

i get 15mpg =[ all in city drving about 240 a tank

 

hahah last year when i drove to my high school which was like 2 miles down the road i got 140 from the tank

 

I don't know, but I can't complain lol. I'm all stock except for a K&N filter. It might have a little to do with keeping my tire pressure at 40psi but I don't know. The oil I use is 5w40 which is pretty thick, so I wonder why other guys get such crappy gas mileage.

 

speaking of tire pressure, is it supposed to be at 40psi? i think that my tire pressure is uneven cuz the car tends to turn right a little on straight surface
