my '97 1.8TQA can get 25-31mpg city-highway... I've gotten 400 miles on a tank multiple times.

55mph at 2300 RPM = optimal

I can do, and have done that in 4th gear

Auto isn't really as tragic as one would think

you have done 80mph at 4000rpm in 4th gear? wtf are you chuck norris or something? heheh

LOL, I was in my car and I had both the tachometer and speedometer pointing straight upwards in 4th gear...

The automatic 1.8T has longer gears than the standard
