Default My A4 Update

So, I've spent the past few weeks between work and such moding my car a bit, so I thought I'd update. I've got a 2000 A4 1.8TQM, with Pearl White paint. Performance and electrical mods are new Speedtuning chip 1.3 bar, hardwired Ross-Tech VAG-COM data link, hardwired HKS Turbo Timer (but still need to fully install), and minor stereo changes.

Appearance wise, I've gone from this:

To this:

Yes you are seeing that right, those are blacked out rings. You wouldn't believe how hard it was to get right. Totally worth it though.

Yes, I know I need to tint. Send me money, and I'll post pictures of it. Anyways, I've blacked out the grille, headlight corners, taillights, side markers, and rings. I was planning on also doing the mirrors, the lowers and possibly roof, but couldn't find good enough paint for them and kind of ran out of time. But, I'm totally pleased with it right now.

You likey?

I'm not sure if I'm digging the blacked out headlight corners. IMO you should just go CC.

Other than that, good looking car. What's the plan next?

@ Kriptonik, I'd like to go clear corners, but I can't really afford it now. But I like how the black looks with the whole black and white scheme I have going on. Plans next? Major plans are for a complete performance air bag suspension system. But, that'll have to come when I get into my Co-op for school in the spring. Before then, hopefully a FMIC, blacked out roof, turbo-back exhaust, and other other relatively minor stuff.

@ armyboy, I hate to admit it, but I used 60 grit sandpaper (!!) and your average plastic primer, satin black paint (2 coats), and high gloss clear coat (2 coats, with 1500 grit sanding in between). If I were to do it again, I'd learn up more on how to prep chrome for paint, since it didn't adhere as quickly or nicely as I wanted.

@ pullacowonaski (hilarious name, btw) where did you get the vinyl? I can't find anything I like to put up there. How was the install? And how well is the adhesion? I'd have nightmares of dog-eared corners.

Oh, and anyone know how to color-match pearl white? I've got a few places I'd like to fix.

I really like the black rings on the trunk.

Q: What is the wire coming out of your tape deck?
