lately the heated seats just turn on by themselves, both driver, passenger, last week i was w my gf and shes like, my butt is hot! i was like what???

what should i check? where? is there like a cable, has someone had this issue b4?

 

The potentiometer in the seat heat unit could be going bad, allowing electricity flow when not turned on.

I'll agree with the potentiometer. Also I have heard stories of them going bad and actually burning through the pleather. on the other hand why was your first thought 'what" when your girl said her butt was hot? Sounds like it's time for a new girl lol.

 

Call the dealer and check for open safety recall on the seat heater potentiometers. Might score some new parts for free if it's open!

Otherwise, pull the fuse until you replace the potentiometer so it doesn't burn out the grid or destroy the seat cover.

 

i would pull the fuse for now like tweaked said
