Default My brand new waterpump is failing after only 750 miles??? pics inside

So I did my timing belt and all that jazz a few months ago and I was under my car the other day and I found fresh and dried coolant at what looks like the shaft where the belt is at.. It doesnt look like its leaking from the housing at all. The dried coolant trail looks like it starts right under where the pulley is for the water pump. I have the upgraded "metal" impeller pump that came with the kit.. From fcp..

this pump is literally only a few months old and to be exact 750miles of easy driving(breaking in my clutch)

Am I looking at doing my W/P again? I feel like I should Contact them and ask for a replacement?? What a headache, I imagine they are going to want me to ship them my leaking unit which= downtime=No audi driving [mad]

probably got a generic pump, they are known to fail early.

I thought new pumps had to be broken in, during which time it's normal for them to weep a little bit as the seals swell or whatever they do. I'd say you should wipe it down' , and watch for continued leakage.

If I had to guess, I'd say that coolant came from above the WP. If it came out of the shaft, it wouldn't be on top of the pump. I agree, just clean it off and see if it comes back.

Agreed also with the above.

I got it from a vender on ebay that sells FCP parts.. I am not sure what kind of pump FCP uses in their kits.. Possibly that little round golden sticker is the manufacturer of the pump?

I heard that about different seals and stuff. I really hope it does that. Ill wipe it down and check back in a week or so and check my reservoir daily..

I tried to get my finger above the pump and its kinda a tight spot. I didnt feel any wetness from above I am gonna do a look from above to make sure its not being leaked on.

I appreciate the help
