Default Are my motor mounts bad

Okay so im pretty sure its my motor mounts but i want to make sure before i order all the parts. When driving and the motor is under exelration the gear **** moves forward maybe 1/8 inch and when i let of it settles back a 1/8 inch. When the car is at idle there is a slight shake no worse then the bigger motored cars ive owned over the years but this is a 1.8 so i think my mounts are bad any opinions?

I will prob order all 5 new mounts from jhm
snub http://jhmotorsports.com/shop/catalo...06896a2e2f9b14
left/right motor http://jhmotorsports.com/shop/catalo...06896a2e2f9b14
left trans http://jhmotorsports.com/shop/catalo...06896a2e2f9b14
right trans http://jhmotorsports.com/shop/catalo...06896a2e2f9b14
all in track density

My shifter also moves when accelerating and moves when letting off the throttle too.

Could be a shifter bushing. When one of my mounts when bad you could feel the difference driving, in the peddles, in the shifter, even at idle. The mount fluid is pink in color (if I remember right). Get under your car and look at them there still might be residual fluid on the mount where they leaked. Hope that helps

Without knowing a single thing about your car, I can tell you that your snub mount definitely needs to be replaced. The rubber compound that Audi used from the factory deteriorates quickly and contributes to the drivetrain movement you're seeing in the shifter.

Audiltr is right about the other two motor mounts, when they go bad, they start to leak pink fluid. Over time that pink fluid turns into a very light pink/whitish crust that will be visible on the mounts themselves and on the frame rails below them.

The trans mounts go bad less frequently then the rest, but it does happen.

Are you sure you want track density? Is this car your daily driver? JHM track density mounts are very solid and will allow a LOT of NVH into the cabin.

I just did my mounts and snub. The track density will add cabin vibration excessivly expecially with every mount being track dense. i used the standard mounts and a new snub. I had the same symptoms and this fixed it. The fluid comming out of my mouts was black tho and wit hthe replaced ones my drivetrain is solid. even with the stock mounts there is no drivetrain slop.

Ya thats what ive been thinking latley after researching snub mounts I saw the one guys install where the cup was just full rubber, yes its my daily driver but i have no problems with stiff motor mounts and i think it will be barable. So it looks like I will still be throwing all new mounts at it come next pay check.
