Default is my turbo bad?

When my turbo spools up it sounds like a reallly high pitched whine and my car is feeling kinda sluggish. I'm i little low on oil but my oil level has been the same for a few weeks. Any help?

You have the dentist drill of death

which means go buy a new turbo, i would suggest a k04 if you dont have the money to go BT

Take off the inlet and check for shaft play (in/out and up/down) before you spend $400+ for a new turbo.

its not my turbo (yay). It turns out the high pitched whine is my PS pump. The whine only happens when i'm above 3k rpm and turning the steering wheel. Good thing i'm fixing that next week. I'll still check for shaft play just to make sure.

"yay"?? PS problems can be more costly than a replacement turbo! Start by checking the fluid level.

nope 175 for a pump from shokan i'm all set. Fluid has been fine for the month that i've been driving it with elbow grease lol. I'm gonna say 175 is a little less than 1k
