So does anyone know about this little plug on the back of the ATW engines. Its like a big metal plug that fits into a hole for coolant. Anyway it keeps popping out and and leaking out all the coolant. I dont know why or how to get it to stay in. There is this stupid little metal clip that looks like its supposed to hold it in place but it does NOTHING. I just got it back after getting the new motor installed, it runs fine except for this one stupid part. Does anyone know what Im talking about? I can't drive it cuz of this one stupid part since it leaks out all the coolant. PLEASE SOMEONE HELP!!! What can I do or what do I need?

okay its the coolant temp sensor or sender, whichever is on the back of theblock up top. How do I get it tonot pop out?

 

Get a new clip from Audi.

if your positive you have the little metal clip on right, then just get a new one at the stealership.

 

the metal clip doesnt seem to do anything plus I have no O ring. Okay someone tell me what they have on theirs ( as far as additional little partslike O rings and stuff)and how they clip it in

 

they used different sensors throughout the years so yours is different than mine. but it should be apparent how it works by looking at it. the clip should go over the coolant flange and fit into a groove that holds it in place

 

the clip goes in the grooves but doesnt hold anything in place

 

is there a grove in the hole of the block?

might be that that is how it is supposed to be, but there might not be a grove in the block for the clamp to fit into


if this is a plug that is not supposed to come out, you never want out....... jb weld the plug in there
