Default need help, boggs down real low when gas is pushed/random idle

I just bought my 1st Audi, the guy told me it had a acceleration issue, didn't really notice much on test drive, on way home every other stop light id hit the gas it would move a couple feet almost stall then take off normal after your going it runs and drives great just the take off, now at home in driveway It has a very low change in idle from 800-1100ish rpms never up high and every once in awhile sounds like its going to die then goes back to normal after 2 seconds, guy put me coil packs in and cleaned the throttle body a few months ago, what could it be and where should I start? 1999 a4 1.8t Quattro has Automatic transmission (unfortunately)

Have you checked the transmission fluid?
Are there any CELs?

I have not checked trans fluid yet but shifts great once moving,
I'm new to this stuff I dont know what CELs are, he also said it has a vacuum leak somewhere but it seems like more than that, the service light comes on

CEL is check engine light. The light that comes on when you have an issue that needs immediate (usually) attention. it's the light on your dash that conveniently looks like an engine. probably what you're talking about with the 'service light'.

anyway, go to your local autozone (or equivalent depending on where you live) and rent a scan tool (or have them do it - it takes all of 2 minutes). you can scan you engine and it'll tell you all your CEL codes. Each code (if there are multiple) will tell you a certain thing wrong with your engine and we can get started on fixing them. If you've got a friend they might have a scan tool as well and you can borrow for it as long as you need. if you don't know anybody with one and there's no autozone nearby you can try calling mechanics and asking to borrow one briefly. If they're cool they may let you borrow it for free or ask for ten bucks or something.

however you manage to scan your car, it'll read off some codes. post them here. that being said, depending on the location of the vacuum leak, it can most certainly cause accel issues.

Alright guys been awhile since I posted this but still having problems, I changed the fuel filter out and it changed a lot but every once in awhile(anytime I stop and idle for more than 45 seconds-a minute and a half) it will idle funny at times and also when I hit the gas it has major hesitation chugs and then drives like normal. went to a AutoZone the only code it threw was p0705 for a transmission sensor? I don't know a lot about fixing cars but that kind of makes sense because it almost seems like it trying to take off in 2nd or third gear (its a automatic) any ideas on what it is??
