Default need help....turbo ?

i have a 2001 1.8t a4. quattro. i just put a new turbo on the car. i did not have the car previouse to me rebuilding the motor so im not sure if what it is doing is my fault or car problem. the turbo seems to cut in and out. like its building boost then stops then picks back up. Its almost a surge feeling when accelerating what can cause this any input is more than greatly appreciated. thanks, Corbin

first thing you need to do is put a boost gauge on the car. Can pick one up for 30 bucks and install it in a vent for free if your tight on money. Can be a number of things though, dv valve, n75 valve, leaks. But get a gauge first..

i just installed a boost guage last night. the boost will go to 12 -13 fall to 5 and surge from 5 to 12ish while under acceleration. if i put the car in manumatic and leave it in 4th or 5th and push the gas pedal down it will build slowly to 12 and hold perfect. any ideas?
