Default Need an honest opinion

I was gonna buy coilovers for my v6 but after watching youtube videos of guys with the 2.8 supercharger it makes me want one. However, I have some questions before I invest in this. First, my car has 117k miles of it. Do you think the engine can handle the supercharger. And if it can is there anything I should do prior to getting the supercharger such as I don't know maintenance or something along those lines. Also, I blew my trans around a year ago and I had it rebuilt. Do you think that trans can take the added hp? Keep in mind it is a fwd.

what year is your car? they only made the super charger for 98+ so 12v means no supercharger... go for the PES G1 u can front mount it and some other junk. also is your car auto or manual?

Honestly I don't think supercharging is worth it especially with your auto and fwd.. I think most will agree. Since you're fwd get bags!

maybe I am new but what r u talking about bags????? I must be missing something.... Maybe supercharger down the road then but not in the immediate future. I was thinking coilovers then. So oust the supercharged idea?

Airbag suspension. I wasn't being totally serious though unless you want to drop thousands of dollars so you can have 1mm ground clearance whenever you want. I'd go with coilovers instead of a supercharger if you plan on keeping your car.

Jc, and everyone that always says 12v superchargers never existed - They did make a supercharger kit for the 12v engine in the past, it's just very rare to find now.

okay so no supercharger for me thanks guys made my decision easy. I was stoked about getting one but now that I think about it I could do a lot more things with the money. I guess next stop is coilovers then. Thanks guys.

you should look at getting chipped. it doesnt deliver the same amount of power but it makes your driving experience a lot more.... fun

Chipping the 30v won't be nearly as fun as a 1.8t though. But I have heard that the $150 (I think) for the speedtuning chip is worth it. So yes I agree, chip it. Especially if you considered spending a few thousand on a supercharger, the cost for a chip should seem cheap.
