I have the SpeedTuning chip. I would never claim to have gained a ton of horse power, but this chip isn't placebo. It absolutely delivers an appreciable increase in both torque and power and for $125, you can't beat it. I drove a 2.8 Passat with a stock ECU and my car is way more fun to drive. SpeedTuning is the best thing that could have come along for the 2.8 in terms of price and functionality.

As for my lowers, I painted them myself using paint that I bought from paintscratch.com. I have a couple of threads about it...the first batch of paint that they sent was a horrible match, but the second round is almost perfect. So, I recommend them, but test the paint first! [:@]

does the speed tuning chip nix the ridiculous flat spot at 4000 rpm? I'd pay $125 just to get rid of that if it didn't affect the emissions for smog check and all that too much.

 

They sell it on eBay for $125 (I think). You'll have to search for the specifics, I don't know their account name...I got mine for $125 as part of a group buy on the forum last fall.

I'm not sure that I ever noticed that particular problem before, but I can say that the car pulls great above 3500 rpm and that the SpeedTuning chip makes everything about driving better. And I passed emissions with the chip, no problem.
