Default Need My Oil Pan Changed/Fixed

I need a good mechanic who wants cash to quote me on removing and repairing/replacing the oil pan on my 2000 A4 1.8 manual ATW. I'm in Glen Gardner NJ. JB welded for now so I can drive it to your garage or shop.

go to the yellow pages and look up welding or fabricating.

call up a place and ask if they weld aluminum

if yes- ask when is a good time to take your pan to them for a quick fix

otherwise try posting this in the regional forums.

My yellow pages don't have a section on 'A4 Oil Pan Removal Specialists in NJ who want to make some cash money doing shade tree work.' Does yours?

I said in the original post I was looking for someone to remove my pan, not that I was looking for a welder.

Dealer? Local auto mechanics? Craigslist, yellow pages for a mechanic? This isn't the correct place on the forum to find a mechanic for your needs. Not everyone on this forum lives in Glen Gardner NJ. In fact we live all over the USA, so your going to need to post this question in a regional forum or take time upon yourself to do the research.

Haha, what they said!

Ghost had a really good suggestion with the welding idea. You'd save a lot of money doing it that way. Sounds to me like you don't want help from knowledgeable fellow Audi owners. Actually, you know what, get it done at the dealership, or better yet some place that doesn't normally work on European cars that will overcharge you for a job they are probably going to do wrong.

I'm sure Ghost had a great answer to somebody's question, but I didn't ask that question. I'm not looking for a welder. I'm looking for a quote from a hungry AF member who wants some 'easy' cash. Thanks for all the life lessons. Go to the dealership, that is quite entertaining for you two, I guess. I will move to the regional since yall don't all live across the street. My research lends me to believe that changing the oil pan is a big deal on the 1.8. Does anyone have experience (this to the national audience) in changing one? Or do we wish to continue talking about welders and "how to find a mechanic?"
