Need some opinions
Hi guys, I'm here to ask you for some advice. I bought a 2001 A4 1.8T quattro (161,XXX miles) at the beginning of this fall/winter and when I bought it it needed an oil pump put in it. I had that installed and a couple days after that the transmission went. So I bought a used one with a little over 100,000 miles on it and had a local transmission guy put it in for me. It did great for me all winter until about a month ago then it started throwing the P0741 code on me. I decided to just let it go since I read a couple places that it could be nothing major. Well the code has come and gone randomly a couple times now. Well just this past week it feels like the car has started to be shifting a lot rougher. I fear that the transmission is about to go on me again. I was wondering if you guys were in the same situation what would you do? Fix it again, sell it as is, part it out, what? Please help me out guys, I'm clueless here.
Tranny fluid level OK? Here's what Ross Tech has to say about that code. You sure that T-converter is the right one for that tranny?
