Ok so the whole story of why I replaced my old craked CF hood for a new stock hood is because some idiot put his car in reverse at a stop light and backed into me. I made a deal with him since he didn't want to have stuff go through the insurance companies to replace my hood instead of replacing my bumper since I could buff out most of it. It also helps him because a new hood is cheaper then a new S4 bumper. He agreed with that so now I have a new stock painted hood, and it does look nice.

But my radiator has been leaking right where hes hit me and ive had to refill it with water every 2-4 days. He said he wants to take the car to his mechanic and he would say if his car going 3-5 mph in reverse would cause damage to the radiator. I'm afraid HIS mechanic is going to take his side. Clearly a 3000 lb car going 5 mph could easily reak havoc on a mounted radiator... So I am just confirming this with you guys to make sure I'm not crazy or anything

He is fine with getting a 2nd or 3rd opinion as well.

Even though he was going 5MPH, it's not impossible that he did cause the damage.

I know that radiators are somehow fragile. I've destroyed one by accidentally hitting it with a hammer.

just tell him either you get the radiator fixed or we are getting insurance involved, that will change his tune

and yes a car going 1 mph could do damage to your radiator

This is why it is a law in Ohio that if you are involved in any crash on the roadway you must report it. Good luck getting it fixed insurance is going to laugh you out the door.

i would only consider not involving the insurance if the person that hit me was a good friend or a family member. other than that i wouldnt trust anyone about that kind of stuff, that guy did a stupid thing and he should pay for it. ohh and if you took it to a body shop you would get paid a lot more than the guy paid you

yeah, he does seem like a pretty sincere guy about fixing it if it is his fault but yeah this is the last time i will let this happen without getting a police report and calling the insurance company. Hopefully I won't have to get to harsh with the guy...

thanks for the input guys.
