I want to say thanks to this forum and the members for helping me decide on buying a A4. I just bought a 2001 1.8T quattro with 108K. The car is in great shape. The lady I bought it from took meticulous care of it. She just had the timing belt and water pump replaced. I look forward to searching for all the answers to all the questions which I know will come up.

I've got a 2.8 Quattro with sports pkg, and Celebration pkg. Love the car but would like the turbo better I think. I would just swap the turbo for the dog 2.8. 193hp pushing a Quattro tranny, is under powered for me.

Neither are fast stock. The 1.8 is easier to mod but still expensive to get to be fast.

 

Great buy man! Your lucky she had the timing belt already done. Ive seen a alot of people sell their cars because they do the "big" maintenance and think their car is too expensive to keep.
About the 1.8 and 2.8, i have a 2.8 because I thought that it would be more reliable until i can afford the PES G2 supercharger. My question is, is it cheaper to buy a 2.8 and then spend the $4k on a supercharger or buy a 1.8T and tune it up to 300hp?
