New Audi wheels... spacers?
I just upgraded from 15" wheels to 17" 7.5"widthwheels with 235/45 tires. Both are original Audi rims and I have a 2001 A4.

^^^this is the style of wheels i got
My questions is, do I need to get spacers or anything else for proper fitment, or will it fit fine?
They have a 5x112 bolt pattern. I plan to get an alignment as well.[/align]

Well considering you have an A4 and I'm guessing no big brake kit.... you should be fine. They're bigger wheels and off a newer A4 so you don't gotta worry. Altho spacers do look pretty BA IMO
I have those wheels on my car and when i went to install 235/45/17 tires the tires were too wide and the rears would rub. I Think you should probably get some spacers at least for the back so you dont have this problem, not sure on what mm to get because i just went with a little less wide tire, but i see you already have tires.
235's definetely don't rub! That's what most 17's are. It takes 255's and wider to rub. I got 10mm front and 15mm rear do to B5's narrower fenders. Each set w/ bolts is bout $150 so it gets pricey. $300 and you didn't even get wheels or tires.

...you mean narrower ?
I had to go with 225/45/R17 tires. With the 235/45's the tires in the rear were rubbing on the upper control arms (they were too wide). I dont understand how other people did not have this problem. Maybe because im on sport suspension?
You can have a ride slammed and most likely you won't rub on on 17/235's. You'll find that most members on this forum have ran a similar set up with no problems. I had stock 235/45/17's on stock suspension and no problem. That's how it came from Audi. Maybe a miscalibrated camber/toe or something of the sort caused your 235's to rub.
Dont know, I know 235/45's were the stock tires they came with thats why i wanted to put that size back on. I doubt i have any toe/camber problems, treadware seems to be even and i can let go of the wheel and car will track straight down the road. I'm stumped. I know there was another post that a person on herehad the same problem with the rears rubbing with 235/45's. He PM'ed me about theproblem asking me if iwent throught the same thing and what I did to solve it. Maybe differnt tire brands have slightly differnt demensions? I wouldnt think they would though.
Just an update...
I had to get 3mm spacers to fit the b6 a4 rims onto my b5. They were slightly rubbing in the front. Now there is plenty space for the tires.
They look sweet as hell too, the spacers might have added to the effect, but I'm pretty stoked about the whole wheel set up now, 15" rims were a bit too small.
