I think euro plates are friggin sweet, and i see cars down here with them all the time. I say do it
Actually by the letter of VA's law the europlate itself is not illegal. If you keep your state issued plate on the front of the car. BTW, VA's law states that your plate must be mounted within 15 inches of the front of the vehicle, so windshield is not a legal place.

I'm keeping my plate in the back with 4 zip ties, if I do get stopped, I ask the cop if I can rectify the situation on the spot by putting my plate on. Sometimes the cop won't issue a ticket if you can fix it right then in there.

And like you said, if you draw alot of attention to yourself your chances go up. I just drove by two cops already this afternoon with no problems. And no offense to some of you, but I don't race around with ghetto music blasting with my seat so far back I might as well be in the back seat while wearing a hat tilted sideways. Cops profile, so why make yourself look like a thug.

Mike, you're right I misspoke. What i was trying to say is that using the Euro plate to replace the one given you by the state is illegal. Good catch!

i ordered my europlate with a california logo & my real license plate number. hopefully, that should help with reasonable cops.

in the past i have received a "fix it" ticket for no front plate. that just required that i show up at a DMV or CHP office & show them the affixed plate. no fine levied.

That's why I'm opting to keep the plate in the car with zip ties, I got a fix it ticket once before and told the cop I could fix it on the spot and he let me go with no ticket.

I have a buddy that's good friends with a lot of cops around here in MA. One night when we were at his house one of them stopped by to chat and at the time I had a plate on the front of my car from the 60's, it just said BROD. It was green.

I asked the guy if a cop will pull you over for no plate/vanity plate and he told me, at least around here, they won't bother with something so minor, however if you get pulled over for something else they can add that fine to your ticket.

Funny enough that almost happened to me, I got pulled over for the first time and the cop lady (who is a bitch by the way, nobody around here likes her) told me to change my front plate to the correct one. Yay for no fine though!
