Default New K03 and now overboosting

Hi all, it has been quite a long time.

This last summer I picked up a knock-off K03 turbo (I know, I had no money and had to get her running). Ever since then, I have had boost issues.

I have the APR stage 1 tuning and with the car in stock tuning mode, I get 15 psi spike and 10-12 psi settle (Not far off of what is expected.)

The issue is when I put it into tuned mode, I get spikes up to 30 psi!! (gauge only goes to 25, guessing it is around 30). It tries to settle down at 15 PSI but it take a while to get there, something around 5+ seconds.

As far as I know, this will destroy this turbo as well as my stock injectors can no where near handle that boost. Any ideas as what could be causing the issue? Should I adjust the wastegate or replace my N75 valve?

Did you get the tune first hand or used? How many programs did you get with it? Can you take a picture of how your N75 is oriented in the turbo inlet and how the vac lines are connected to it?

if your not running an mbc, then your culprit is more than likely the n75, weather it be bad or hooked up wrong.... run a vac line from the w/g to the turbo housing, see if you get a better reading

i had a very similar issue with a ebay mbc, not to say your w/g isn't bad, but this will tell if the n75 is

So I got the tuning fist hand probably 6 years ago. It used to boost just fine on the original turbo.

The programs include: Stock, Apr Stage 1, Valet.

I will see if I can pull out my airbox tonight and get a picture of it. it is all very possible I boned this up, it was a late night of working.

Did it come with a waste gate or did you use the one from the old turbo?

It came with it's own wastegate built into it.

I think the conclusion CCA4 may be coming to is that the wastegate actuator on the new turbo might not be set right. It's very possible that the preload on the actuator rod is too high causing your overboost. If you hook up a compressor to the wastegate actuator inlet it shouldn't take more than 5psi to crack open the wastegate.

Great! That is what I was considering. I was assuming the fix for this would be adjusting the actuator rod. Is it this simple? Any tricks?

Thanks!!!
