Default New MAF on ATW

Installed a new MAF yesterday on my 2000 a4 ATW. Got 50 miles on it now. Do I need to disconnect the battery for a period to allow any old "maps" to clear so the new MAF can do its thing without any history to interfer? I know it is early but I'm thinking the mileage is worse based on early indications on the data center.

you can either let it take effect normally or faster with resetting the ecu. SInce you already have about 50miles on it, might aswell just leave it.

[8D]Advance Auto Parts. They didn't have it in the store, so I ordered online refurbished for about $100 and took the core back to them and got $34 back, so only $65 out of pocket. It was the exact same one as came out - Bosch. One year warranty. Very simple install, after I spent some time looking over the air box to determine which hoses to break. No need to remove the heat shield, it can stay on the box. The two big hoses on front side come off - tip has screw clamp and 2nd Air has metal clip to cut. I only cut one or two other hose clip (on the check valve and the other thing on the box), cut some cable ties for more room, and no problem, it just came up a little and I could rotate it and work right there. Two screws inside the box and wires unsnap inside, also. There is a reusable oring/gasket to switch from old MAF to new MAF. I've been fighting with a CEL for a month - changed vacuum lines, pressure test, and now no CEL for over 50 miles with new MAF (I reset CEL with my dumb Vagcom), but you never know if it is fixed this time.
