New to me, 122k miles, what to do?
Hello to all and thanks for your knowledge. Helped me make an informed purchase today on the car in my signature. See my Noob thread in the Welcome Area if you want more info.
So the car has never had a timing belt, and gives a cam chain tensioner sound (per what I heard on Youtube) for one to two seconds on cold start (among other things).
I have stocked a shopping cart with a complete timing belt kit, serpentine pulleys, and a valve cover gasket kit with cam seals. Should I just go ahead and change the cam tensioner itself? Anything else while I've got it all torn down (I like to be preventative vice reactive in my maintenance, especially since my little girl will get the car soon)?
Made a nice replacement armrest lid thanks to JoAnn fabrics and an hour in the wood shop. I need to tweak the design a little sometime down the road cuz I'm ****, but works for now, and certainly doesn't look broken anymore.
Hoping the Maryland Inspection doesn't hit me too hard tomorrow, but I'd be shocked if there is no suspension issues, even though she seems fine to me . . .

Pretty handy, thanks to Uncle Hot-Rodder.
Definitely part of the timing belt kit, thanks!

Well, Maryland state inspection completed:
Rear rotors & pads
Both axles
Right outer tie rod
Wiper blades
Rear tires
Foglight lens cracked
Dollar wise, about what I expected, just thought they would get picky on the control arms. Time to do some shopping!
