Default New member, new car ...first problem

Though, not really a problem. Doesn't effect driveability, or....anything as far as I can tell.

I just bought (today) a 2001 AWD Avant Quattro 1.8T (Wagon). 5 Speed.

Heres my issue, shifts through all the gears fine, runs beautifully, brakes beautifully.

However, when coming to a stop sometimes, my brake pedal will "click" up and down, while some servo-whirring type noise emitts from the dash. This only happens when i'm almost stopped or stopped. And it's definitely from the inside of the car. Any ideas?

just sounds like a relay...like on automatic you apply the brake to shift it from park to drive and itll click when you push the brake in to shift it

Thought so at first too, but I noticed the brake pedal actually feels asif it's moving in syncronization with the clicks. Keep in mind, the clutch can be untouched, or fully pressed while this happens.

Does feel like it's trying to engage ABS. No codes though, and it is only within that 5-0 mph range, hmm. could definitely be getting a bad readout during that range.

odd though, usually ABS sensors on their way out will throw at least one warning light. unfortunately those aren't cheap

yeah no abs dummy light. They're on ebay for 36-50 bucks, probably cheaply made..but better than 150+, not a biggie .

Relatively easy to change, I'd assume. I hope that's not the problem, though. It could just be something silly, or no problem at all. Afterall, nothing "seems" wrong. just the brake-servo sound. Ah well, driving me crazy right now lol

yeah apparently it's common, Im not going to bother looking for it. 250 miles on it so far and no dummy lights, can't be that serious.
