New paint job!

New paint job!
I left for Air Force basic training this July and I've been without my car ever since. A few months prior to leaving all the paint on my hood came off - I thought at the time it was vandalism but I'm pretty sure now that I think about it/look at the pictures the paint wasn't primed properly or something. But either way - I know a guy who knows a guy who does collision repair, and he said he'd cut me a deal on repainting my hood and touching up all the scratches/dings/etc. all over the rest of the car. Got a phone call from him yesterday - he got bored and repainted the entire car for me - he's charging me his cost for paint and that's it - $450. My family picked it up for me and they say it looks spectacular; a friend of mine is driving her down from Montana to pick me up from Texas for Christmas and I can't wait. Pictures to come ASAP. But either way - $450 for a full paint job! Sweet!

Great bro, post some pics when you get a chance. I also just fixed up my car at my friend's body shop. I needed a front bumper, hood and left fender fixed. My friend charged me his cost for bumper and hood and fixed the fender for free. He then painted both fenders, hood and bumper, waxed my whole car, touched up a couple of scratches on the door and re-attached all the lower rubber moldings in a barter for some computer work on his office computers. All together I spent a couple of hours of computer work and about $300. Sweet deal! By the way, my brother graduated from Sheppard about 2 months ago, he absolutely loves it, he's now a crew chief in training in Arizona and will be transferred soon to North Carolina. He's coming home on the 18th, I can't wait to see him and the look on his face because my dad and I repainted his 1989 BMW M3 and hooked it up with a E30 M3 Stromung Exhaust!

Sweet deal! I'll definitely be sure to post pictures ASAP. It sure is nice to have friends who will help you out.
I graduate here at Sheppard on the 17th, and I'll be a Crew Chief on B-52s at Minot AFB in North Dakota in January. I've only been in for a few months now but I sure do love the Air Force so far. Can't wait to get home to see family/friends and DEFINITELY get my car back!!

B-52's are incredible bombers! My brother is a crew chief on F-16's and his childhood friend is a crew chief on F-18's. I have always loved airplanes to the point where I can see a model and be able to tell you exactly which one it is. I'm not a military guy so I don't think it's for me but my brother loves it. He is trying to set up a tour of an AFB in NJ, he says it's a big one because he would like me to see the planes up close.
