Default New Turbo?

I have a high pitch metal to metal sound coming from the engine compartment of my audi. It only does it when i raise the RPM's slowly not floring it. if i floor it it doesn't make the sound. i still push 18 to 19 psi on the K03 but i think it needs a rebulid or another turbo such as the K04. Which would be cheaper, rebuilding my turbo or buying a k04 or a K03s (not sure if it will fit)? 97 A4 1.8t w/ Giac and dv

You can pick up a K04 for less than $800, but you'll need some tuning for it as well.

Prices are very high for K04's right now because they are on short supply, people are selling them for around $900+ for a new one.

$950 before tax and shipping, also there's a 8 week wait. K04's are really hard to find right now

Yeah I think SPP posted about having them for $900 + shipping and a few days later they were out of stock again. Borgwarner just isn't worried about getting enough of them out since they are busy with their newer S line which uses the extended tip wheels which is a new technology.
