Default Newbie to the board

Hey everyone, been reading on the board for a while, but finally got off my lazy rump and registered.
I've got a 99.5 Audi A4 1.8T Quattro, silver w/ black leather, Audi navigation unit, manual trans, couple of ticks south of 160k miles. Well, technically its my wife's car, but it seems I'm the only one with the blood, sweat, tears, and scars for it. I'm not 100% sure on all the mods on it, since they were done by the previous owner, and I keep learning new things everyday (sometimes not for the best).

I do know it's got:
17" Fittipaldi's wrapped in Yoko tires
Bilstien shocks
Sport springs (not sure what brand, but it brought it low and still rides fairly decent)
Short throw shifter
VDO boost gauge
OBX pedal covers + dead pedal
ECS Tuning Stage 1 RA4 Clutch conversion
Air box mod
Test pipe
Borla Exhaust
Cross-drilled/slotted rotors w/ performance pads

I'm also pretty sure it's chipped (previous owner claimed it, and it definitely feels more lively than the OE A4 I test drove), but I'm not sure which chip. There may be more mods (possibly upgraded DV, etc.), but for now I can't be sure.

It's also got its fair share of problems. CEL (o2 sensor), MAF supposedly shot according to the dealer, Airbag light is on, ABS light on, needs a pair of axles, left headlight fogs up, crack in the windshield, bad IP LCD screen (anyway this can be fixed DYI?), etc. Also been coming across some ham-fisted repairs, like wires mended together with electrical tape (from one of the sensors in the wheel hub), manic overuse of zip ties (occasionally damaging wires and other components), etc.

Eventually I'd like to do some more mods, but seeing how my wife's taken a 50% cut in pay and I just lost my job a few weeks ago, I think it's gonna be sometime. Nothing too extreme, maybe a k04 turbo, new APR chip, HID's. If the motor ever reaches the point of needing a rebuild I might just have to do it all right and try to get 400+ HP.

I'll post up some pics here in a couple of days. Been trying to get it cleaned up, since my wife never learned that art. Damn rock chips though suck.

I'm still pretty new to the Audi world, even though we've had this car for two years. I've usually been about Toyotas or Hondas. In fact, if anyone ever used to frequent the now defunt cthree racing or vvti.net, I went by retched1z for years.

Anyways, i'm sure you'll be hearing from me soon. I've finally ordered a VAG-COM KII-USB which should be in tomorrow. I also got a new O2 sensor that should be in Saturday, and windshield washer pump that hopefully will be in Monday or Tuesday (the old one is cracked in half).

Welcome!
Sounds like you've got a lot on your plate. The best advice i can give you with that is take it one piece at a time. Pick the thing that bothers you the most about the car and work on fixing that. Then when thats fixed, pick the next thing. If you worry about everything at the same time you're gonna go nuts. Good luck!
