Default no boost, no power.. nothing

finally got my boost gauge installed.. installed by a professional (certified technician in my car class at school) so im almost positive its hooked up right. anyways, i start it and it jumps and sits at 5 vacuum then when you give it gas it shoots right too zero, its either at zero on the gas or stays at 5 vacuum off the gas.. car feels extremely slow and its not even any fun to drive ..

So whats vac when its warm and what boost go to when you actually drive the car? ALso where did he tap into for the gauge? Did you have a problem with the car before he installed the gauge?

vacuum is at 5 cold/warm whenever all the time. also same with with boost stays at zero full throttle/half throttle.. its never even hit 1psi, nope ive owned the car for 3 months, all my buddies who drive turbos are telling me they know its getting no boost, theres absolutely no pull at all. It's tapped into the line off the intake manifold.

vaccum should be around -20Inhg when the car is warm. Are you sure you own a 1.8t? I tapped into the line off the intake mani too so there should be no problem there. Check your line for rips and if you have the nylon/ plastic tubing check for crimps in that. I just had to replace my nylon tubing because it crimped.

If you dont see any boost, you either have a massive vac and boost leak or he tapped into a bad spot. You need to see what he did.

my guess is that he tapped into the wrong hose...lol

you could have easily followed a diy and done your boost guage in an hour....hopefully you dont have a massive leak

well, gl!

i based it off the center vent boost gauge diy, for running the lines and where to tap into, so thats right. and yes, the line kinked in 2 different spots the first time so igot new line and its free of kinks. Yes rhino... i have a 1.8t...

does the car "feel" like it gets no boost?? Do you need to rev the crap out of it to get any power at all??? If thats the case the gauge tells the truth and you have a dead turbo

OR your engine is in limp mode. If it accelerates like a dog, check for codes and clear them after you write the numbers down.
