No, not another "how much hp gain from a k04" question
My question is, people have said to stay away from ebay k04s that are not KKK or BW, but is it because they break fast or do they not perform as well as the real thing?
Also, once I get a k04 and go get my car chipped for it, can they adjust the tune specifically for my car without having all of the necessary upgrades that are needed for the agressive file? For example, if I have a fmic or injectors.

The ebay knock offs are usually from china, and it will break in the first 100 miles you install it.
If you get an APR flash, they can usually program in a few different power levels that you can toggle through using the cruise control switch, they usually tack on a couple hundred bucks per each program they add in. So if you want the option for stock, K04 chip, and a race program it will run you somewhere around $800 to have all those options built into the chip. If you don't use APR, then most chips usually have to be changed out or "upgraded" for a small fee, if you wanted to add larger injectors etc.
