Noise from rear of car when turning in either direction
from personal experience, that happened when my tie rod end was gone, but that was in the front. but only happened when turning either direction gas or not...
also, i had a car do a 360 on the street (patch of ice around a curve) go off the road hit a few things and long story short, took out my rear quarter. obviously that's not the case here, but i DO know that car(still runs.. pretty well actually) is in dire need of an Alignment. makes that noise in the driver quarter area only when turning either direction, gas or not.

My front tie rods are new, inner and outer, < 10k on them.
I realized yesterday that the noise is much worse turning left. It's there turning right but not as bad, and when turning right it's mixed in with a humming noise.
I haven't gotten a chance to change the diff fluid yet. I didn't have time last night. I think I will have time tonight.

hm. maybe there is a problem with the splines on the shafts.
My thoughts are this...Splines on the outer drivers side rear shaft are junk. So, when turning left, the shaft grinds inside the hub creating that "whomp whomp" and when turning right, the shaft actually has some force in the hub, and still makes a lesser noise.
These are just thoughts.
I would pull your shaft (on the car
) and inspect for wear.
