Where do you live and do you have cold winters and hot summers? If you do you might want to run a 0w30 for winter and 0w40/5w40 for summer. You want to use the different weights to control oil temps, if the oil temps get too high you are running too thin of an oil and if they stay too low then you are running too thick of an oil.

Thinner oils will allow the motor to get better gas mileage. Mobil 1 is not 100% synthetic. If you want 100% you want to run an oil like Redline or Motul.

I run Mobile 1 0w40 too, but I'll probably have to change that when I move back to Maine in September. Max ambient temp range there is about 100F in the summer to about -30F in the winter.

Do you guys think it'd be ok to stick to one type of oil all year round with those temps?
