Default OIL Filler Cap LEAKING?!?!?

I noticed that my car was smelling like buring oil today towards the end of an hour long drive. When I got home and popped the hood, there was oil on the engine cover around the oil cap. When I took off the cover, I saw there was oil around the #4 plug wire and oil had been dripping onto the manifold. Has anyone ever heard of an oil cap or the gasket underneath going bad? I'm almost positive that its not coming from the valve cover gasket.

valve cover gasketi is common, but you dont get the oil on top of the motor. Could be a bad cap if someone broke it putting it on. Look over the 710 cap and see if it makes a good seal and if not, replace it

Yeah, definately not the valve cover gasket. I was just wondering if anyone else has had this problem or has experience that would prevent me from spending more money than I need to.

The crankcase cap has a thin rubber washer to help it seal. They get pretty thoroughly squished over time and they're not very expensive at the dealership (I don't think I paid more than $5). Try that first because it's cheaper than diagnosing and repairing blow back.
