Default Oil Light

Hey guys its me again lol, still never got that oil light to stop coming on. It was just in the shop again and still not fixed, i have put about $400 into the car just to try and get this thing fixed. There was no oil sensor under the pan just the one for the sending unit. So i am all out of ideas, i got a letter in the mail saying that the light is caused by oil sludge build up, but what can i do to get it to stop coming on forever. Is there like a way to have my whole ecu reset? Please help!!!

What?

So much fail. I can barely figure out what your talking about, but the sensor under the pan is only for the temperature and the level. The pressure sensor is over by the oil cooler. And what makes you think a ecu reflash will remove sludge from your engine?

So stop the light, you have to fix the actual issue (learn to search).

They said that my oil pressure was fine, they must have tested it 3-4 times now. They replaced the other sensor and still nothing. The reason I mentioned my ecu reflashed was that obviously there is nothing wrong with my car if they have tested it out and it runs perfectly fine all the time even when the light comes on and starts to beep. So i figured maybe the problem was fixed but the computer doesnt know it?

Something about that doesnt add up. Wiring fault, sensor failure etc. The car wont store a low oil pressure condition like it would with a CEL

Back the truck up a second, what COLOR oil light is this? Yellow or Red?
Yellow is just the oil level, and red is oil pressure.

You're saying you have a red light and the oil pressure checked out fine and they replaced the pressure sender and it still isn't fixed? If thats the case it just has bad wiring, of course im guessing your not dealing with the dealership so i can't trust your mechanic all that much.

Yes it is a red oil light, and they tested the oil pressure and it checked out fine, they replaced the sensor and the wiring now. The only option they said that is left and it could be is to clean the oil pan out and clean off the screen to the pick up tube and hope that is whats causing it. I have a brand new turbo with new oil lines going to it, so its the last thing correct?

You just said the pressure was fine, why would would they drop the pan? Look you're dealing with mechanics that don't know your car, i posted a sticky at the top of the page that will fix sludge issues. Buy that kit and have a mechanic install it if you really have oil pressure problems. I would suggest having a different mechanic do the work.

Do a check for error codes when the light is on and show us the codes, this is always the first step for solving a problem.
