Question oil pan replacement

ok,
so today i cracked the oil pan on my 30valve... car has a stock sport suspention. (tell me how i pulled this **** off) but anyway i have a couple questions for the forum. i found the oil pan on parts geek fairly cheap, but it says its the one with out the opening for the oil level sensor. will this work? the car is A 99.5 AVANT. this literally just happend 15 mins ago, so i haven't had the chance to go check things out to well, not to mention it is now dark outside. and also on a 1-10 diy scale how hard is it to replace the oil pan? looks fairly simple from what i remember when changing the oil. any help or insight would be awesome. i need to get this done asap because my car is the main source of transportation for my girlfriend, daughter and i.

thank you in advance to anyone who might be able to help me out

im pretty sure teh sub-frame has to be dropped. there are 2 awkwardly placed bolts that u need like a double u joint tool for.

It's probably around a 4 or 5 depending on how experienced you are. I'm sure there are guys here that could it it in about an hour, and if you have the right tools it should be a pretty smooth job.

If you're looking to go cheap, I'd first suggest ECS Tuning:

Here is a quick rundown of what you'll need to do:

Good luck.

If you have the 2.8 liter, it is very easy. No need to drop the subframe. Just unbolt the front swaybar and let it drop to the ground. Then take out the 10 mm bolts holding the pan in place. As far as the oil level sensor goes, I'm not sure. My 98 does not have one but they started putting the sensor a year or so after the 98. Call your audi dealer and give them the vin. They should be able to tell you.

thanks guys!

i had the time to go check it out yesterday, and just like terpsfan said it looks very easy to change out. i plugged the crack up with some jb weld for now until the parts come in.
im almost positive my car does not have an oil level sensor as i didn't see any wires or anything of the sort on the pan. but i could be wrong as this is my 1st audi...

ecs tuning is the ***** by the way. i thought 86 bucks was cheap from partsgeek.com, 74 bucks from ecs im probably going to grab a few other things from them as well.
