Default oil psi and temp sensor

Ill get right to the point. I hooked up a oil psi guage where the temp sensor is and it reads 0. I started the car with nothing hooked up where the temp sensor gos, just a open hole. Not one drop of oil came out. Shouldn't this be under psi? The car runs fine, no ticks knocks nothing. No sings of pump failure. Its been like this for weeks. Cant see the car lasting this long with no psi. Any ideas?

I know on my two a4's the oil pressure sensor is above the oil cooler facing the firewall and the temp sensor is on the bottom of the pan.

The temp sensor is on the filter houseing. Where is the oil preesure switch or oil pressure sensor?
If some one could plz comfirm that the oil temp sensor on the filter houseing is under pressure. Cuz if it is I got problems. I dont think a clug is going to hold back 60 psi.

I searched (oil pressure gauge) and went through all 14 pages and found nothing.

This is what I could find for you. From a very reliable sorce. Our cars locations for these things ARE different. You sure that your pressure sensor is good?

Oil Pressure Sending Unit - Left side of cylinder block oil pressure switch
Oil Temperature Sensor - Front of engine near water pump

If you pm me an email address I have pictures of somewhat what they look like.

The only reason I say the temp sensor is on the filter houseing is becuase when I unplug it my oil temp gauge stops working. I even looked the sensor up (oil temp sensor) and the part looks the same.

Maybe your pics will shed some light. I sent you a PM. thanks

You are correct, the temp sensor is in the filter housing. I'm not sure how they work, but it could be possible it simply measures block temp to identify oil temp?
