OK so why
I drove a 98 audi 2.8 for 9 months, and upgraded to the one in my sig. My new car is seriously significantly faster than my old car, like really rips it up compared to my old one. I even hit what I assume was the restrictive ECU at 125, I never got up that fast in my old one. But what might be some reasons this one is faster or that one was sluuggish?
I don't think it's chipped. As far as I know, most chips remove the speed regulator. Although I could be wrong. Give us some more info on the car... Is this one also a 2.8? Or are you now in a turbo?
the 98s are 30v too. like CCA4 said that one might be chipped. i know the speedtuning chip made a good difference in my car. you get more lower end torque and the power is much more usable which makes it feel fast.
Unless something was wrong with your old car to slow it down, it's probably the difference between dbc and dbw. With dbw, anything past 60% or so is read as 90+% by the ecu and the engine reacts accordingly. So it might not be that it's a lot faster than the old one, but there is just less pedal effort which could give the impression of more power....? Could be chipped I guess but I wouldnt assume that.

No silly, it holds skis! Haha, I don't think it's chipped because like someone said doesn't it remove the speed limiter? I def. couldn't go faster than 125. More responsive pedals could be it, sounds like that might right?
