That is precious. I agree with ideas that no one was actually taking the "races" seriously, other than the Prius drivers. A sportbike? A 5.0 GT? they're killing me here...

Yep and that kind of power is enough to beat a 5.0. For all that they aren't, a 5.0 is NOT slow under 60mph. And hoping for a 17 second pass but the governor on the car is what kept him from beating the M3...

I almost bought one because my brother-in-law was putting his mom in a home and was selling it for a song. I really wanted to turn it into a sleeper but after a day or two I found out that it really can't be done for any reasonable amount of money. I thought it would have been neat if I could "build" one. Electric motors can create a ton of torque and have a very linear power curve. My next project sleeper is going to be a Smart car. Yup you read that right. I hated those cars with a passion until I saw these videos... 200+ HP Hayabusa engine transplant. I owned a 'busa back in 2001. First time I broke 200 mph on pavement, what a wicked ride!
