outside mirrors

hey i was curious if the 1998 mirror glass would fit into my stock 2000 mirror cover?

like this one

the driver's side will but the passenger side might not

I need to do somethin about that too, my mirrors are gettin brown around the edges. Why do they do that?

ya mine is fd up i dont get it, looks like water must have gotten inbetween the glass and reflective layer or something ... i dont really know


anyone got one for sale?

If you wait it out, eventually that bown anti glare stuff will drain out. Just wait till winter, thats when water will get in there, expand/contract and you should notice the brown stuff disappear eventually. Its a liquid that reacts to light. They all will eventually get this way.

It is not ever going to go back to the way it should be, it may get less brown but it is already ruined. Apparently Autozone can get them for $17 brand new.

My 00 drivers side mirror has completely drained, and you would never know that **** was in there by looking at it. Can't beat $17 though!

Wow I have never seen that happen before. All the ones that I have seen will clear up but it is still hazier and darker than the rest of the mirror. Mine is doing that on the edges but I can still see fine out of it. My cousin lives on a dirt road and that thing went so black that you wouldn't even know there was a mirror in there.

Now that I think about it.. I remember taking it to the car wash one time and power washing the crap out of the mirror, and that did make a big difference. I think it helped matters that when mine started leaking, it leaked fast. Within a couple months it had almost drained completely from being fine.
