overboosting with n75 and mbc

1999 a4 1.8t aeb dbc with ko3 with 1/2 bigger compressor. overboosting with n75 at 15-20 psi. Installed mbc without n75 and with it shut all the way it'll still hit 20psi. I get 17963dtc says maximum overcharge limit exceeded. Everthing else is stock now looking towards audi tt DV and BPV from what I read they are better then my stock ones. I am thinking MBC is junk I hooked up the tee with the arrow towards wastegate otherside towards the TN. Here is a pick of it. I assume it is garbage but want to be sure. Thanks in advance. BTW I got an autometer boost gauge if that helps

you are also gona fvck your engine up. unless you do the diode mod (which you cant) or get a chip you can't run 20psi. all your doing is cranking up boost without altering the timing or fuel.

If I got a better mbc could I lower the boost to stock levels say 8-10 psi. Any recommendations for an MBC? Or because the the bigger compressor I have no choice but to chip. Thanks for the replies I really just need it to get my ass to work for now.
Turbo Kraut Do you mean issues with the turbo or MBC? Thanks

RE: overboosting with n75 and mbc

i have heard from some people that those, which i just recieved one after finding this out... got mine today, found out after ordering, but i am going to run it anyways... and when it craps, i will just replace the controller, since i will run the tubing and all

but i think cincytt said he just replaced his brothers, cause it quit working and he said he knew of a few more

also yes unless you chip/tune your car, you need to go back down to 10 psi max i would say.... and that might be pushing it..... a good tune, apr/giac will remap everything and saftley give you 17 psi...... ask jeff...... that is his username, he turned his boost up w/ just a mbc and blew some stuff up

Please let me know how it works out and how you hooked it up. I used the bleed method maybe that was a bad idea. Thanks for the input

RE: overboosting with n75 and mbc

No, the bleed style are what you want for a stock turbo. Dont let a bad mbc give you false beliefs

Cincytt,
Turbo Kraut said you have had experience with that one on your brothers car. Is the one I gota bleed style mbc? I know it says its gated on the web that I got it from but when I took the tee apart it had a ball and spring. I heard it exhaust from the mbc when I opened it, the controller seemed ok but I really have my doubts about that tee. Do you recommend a certain MBC?

not to thread jack, but, since i have a chip, i can use a MBC to up my boost and the ecu will adapt?

I actually have a simpler Turbosmart unit:
http://www.dsmtuners.com/parts/produ...roducts_id=880

This has been running well for me. Boost build-up is linear and I have the flexibility to adjust depending on the situation: ex. 18.5PSI during the summer & track sessions, while I go for 22PSI during colder months.

Double check the lines.

Assuming that you leave the N75 plugged-in (w/ lines disconnected) while running a MBC: the ECU will demand a certain boost level from the N75 since it is connected electrically, but your MBC will be running the show, so expect a bit of discrepancy (depending on what level your MBC is set at).
